High Five for Friday

Longest week ever...but hey, it's Friday, and that's good.

1. Monday was spent in one giant meeting The lady was negative about pretty much everything. But the good part about this meeting was...I applied for graduation. Which happens in less than 3 months. We also got some Husker Hoagie, which hasn't happened in a few years and it's just one of the greatest things.

(This also happened Monday.) When Ellen and I are bored in meetings, notes usually get written that are pointless and hilarious and's one of many.

3. My first grade kiddos. I had one of those days this week where I wasn't sure why I picked a career path involving children (which is just me complaining, because I know exactly why I picked it) But they came back the next day and showed me exactly why I love them so much. of my faves.

2. Finally got to hang out with my oldest friend and on her birthday. We sat by the pool, drank good drinks, ate a ton of candy, and a ton of pizza! I've known her for almost 20 years. That makes me feel crazy old.

3. Um...PTO bringing tons of food for teachers is not really a good thing. But it's such a good thing. We had an early out day this week and when we walked into the Teacher's Lounge the tables were covered. Candy, chips, the best salsa (ever!), SIX different kinds of cupcakes, popcorn, cookies, and some more awesome desserts including this! For real, I'm not sure how teachers aren't hugenormous.

4. The Fray is happening tomorrow.

5. Tomorrow is the first Husker game!

Sunday Night Bullets

Ahhh Sunday. I'm not sure if I'm glad to see you because I needed to sleep much more this weekend than I did.

I'm not ready to start another week quite yet. But this weekend was full of so much random stuff.

  • My aunt had a stroke and I've spent way too much time at hospitals this weekend. She's doing okay and they're moving forward on the next few steps for her recovery. But lots of people have been in and out visiting her.
  • My Mom and Grandma came down to see her, so before they went back we had a quick dinner at Cheddar's.
  • Ellen and I were so unbelievably exhausted, that despite our other plans for Friday night, we spent it eating some Red Mango and walking around campus.
That would be Darth Vader, just walking around.
  • I woke up Saturday morning to rain, the Farmer's Market, some garage sales, and errands.
  • Spent all of the rainy afternoon curled up in this chair at Scooter's getting some things done.
  • Me and Brittne had a much needed night together filled with lots of good talks, dinner, and ice cream...even though we had other plans for the night too :)
  • Spent Sunday morning at the hospital during one of the craziest baby weekends yet. I was running from floor to floor because there were so many!

Married: Anne & Scott

I've known Anne forever! We like to catch up with coffee dates way too often and spend hours talking about life in general. She's one of the greatest people in my life, and she found herself an awesome guy! Now they're married and already moved to Memphis to start their life together!

I was super excited when Anne asked me to do some pictures for the wedding! I showed up right when the girls started getting ready and hung out all day! They were such a fun group of people and the whole day was very "Anne-like" :) If you know her at all, you know she loves organization, and everything was perfect! And everyone knows I love me some yellow, so of course I was excited when she showed me the dresses! The reception was all yellow, burlap, mason jars, candy bars, coffee bars, kids tables, and bike horns...the whole wedding and reception were great and Anne was the calmest bride I've ever encountered!

There's no way at all I could've narrowed it down to even make a remotely short post, so of course it's long...duh!  Here's about a gajillion pictures!

I'm so excited to visit them in Tennessee and see where life takes Anne and Scott next.

High Fiving

This was one of the slowest weeks I've had in a long time. They've seemed to fly by lately, but I spent all day Wednesday thinking it was Thursday and well, that made my week drag. But there's some good stuff.

1. The fact that I went to Old Navy prepared to spend money on new pants for teaching. But instead got 3 pairs of pants for $20. Total. I like to think I'm pretty talented on those clearance racks.

2. Had one of those days where the whole world was annoying me, so I turned my phone off and just sat. It was a much needed night away from things.

3. Finished up yet another round of Friends watching. I don't pay for cable, because I'm never home, so when I am watching tv, I'm usually watching Friends. I have the entire season collection and I made it through again for probably, at least, the 157th time and bawled. Like usual.

4. Worked on some more stuff at my place that I've had hanging around waiting to be finished. Sometime I'll share all of them, when I get time...maybe.

5. Won tickets on the radio to see The Fray at the Nebraska State Fair next weekend. I wanted to go to their concert, but wasn't sure if I was willing to spend $40 on them. So winning tickets was a good way to start my morning!
